Los Angeles, CA – “We are thrilled to present the Our Vision Caribbean and Latino Film Festival (OVCLFF) which celebrates the diversity and talent within the Caribbean and Latino communities.” said Charles Alleyne, Our Vision Founder, COO.

Alleyne as said that “Our Vision has created a space and place where Caribbean and Latino filmmakers showcase their unique stories, amplify their voices, and inspire audiences around the world. Film has the power to break down barriers, bridge cultures, and promote dialogue. We are ecstatic to share this incredible cinematic journey with global audiences.”

Dr. Christopher C. Odom, MFA, PhD, Our Vision, CEO, said that the “Our Vision Caribbean and Latino Film Festival is the only combined Caribbean and Latino Film Festival that is Oscar-qualifying for short films.”

Odom continued that “Each year, the in-person festival occurs at the Carson Event Center in Carson, CA and the online version of the festival through Filmocracy. The winners of the short film categories will screen for 1-week in theaters on both coasts in Los Angeles and New York in order to fulfill the requirements for Academy Award consideration, shooting the Our Vision Caribbean and Latino Film festival to the top of the list of “12+1 Best Black Film Festivals for Emerging Independent Films and Filmmakers 🍿” and “15 Best Latino Film Festivals in the United States for Emerging Independent Filmmakers 🎞️.”

Through Filmocracy’s partnership with Hoopla, winners of the best feature, best documentary, or best short categories will be considered for non-exclusive streaming distribution through Hoopla. Hoopla’s titles will become available to 5 million Hoopla users. For a single view that lasts for more than 30 seconds, feature film producers will be paid $0.50 per view. Short films will be made available in bundles in groups of 5. Each short will receive $0.10 per view that last over 30 seconds.

During this exciting virtual event, January 13, 2024, OVCLFF screens a carefully curated selection of feature films, documentaries, shorts, and music videos. The program spans a wide range of genres, including drama, comedy, romance, adventure, and more which captures the essence of the Caribbean and Latino heritage.

Each film provides audiences with an immersive cinematic experience which enables them to explore the rich cultural tapestry and unique perspectives of the Caribbean and Latin American diaspora.

Charles Alleyne, Filmmaker & Educator Our Vision Founder 🎞️ is a seasoned feature and short filmmaker and educator. Charles has written, directed, and or produced over +100 short and long-form projects and developed and supervised over +500 student film projects in South Central Los Angeles. As an independent feature film producer, director, and writer, his feature film “Justin Brown” screened internationally in Germany and his short film “Unspoken” captivated audiences throughout Hollywood and Los Angeles.
