About Heidy Torres 🎬

Heidy Torres, also known as Heidy Torr, is a Dominican actor, director, producer and screenwriter. She was born in a small town in the Dominican Republic and moved to Miami when she was 18 years old. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at Florida International University to later apply to law school.

She had always dreamed of becoming an actor, so instead of applying to law school as expected, she decided to pursue her acting career. She studied theater with Max Ferra, Joshua Brown and Vivian Ruiz in Miami-Dade College and later continued studying with coaches like Hector Zavaleta, Ruben Morales and Sebastian Ligarde.

Heidy initially focused on Spanish speaking roles in Telemundo, where she had the opportunity to work in productions like “Al Otro Lado del Muro” as a Latin reporter and “Mi Familia Perfecta” as Carol. In 2018, she had the opportunity to play a small role in a short film called, “The Health Racket” by Parranda Productions that later led her to the lead role on “Midway Home” by Parranda productions. Her performance on “Midway Home” won her the “Best Actress” award on the Redwood Film Festival.

In 2019, Heidy co-starred her first feature film, “The Eccentric World of Baron Styles” directed and produced by Jerome-Anthony Larkin, where she portrayed, Samantha Rothman, the wife of actor and producer JJ Duffy (Leonard Rothman). The feature film was released early 2020 and since then has won many awards.

Heidy is also a screenwriter. In 2022, she wrote, produced, directed, and acted in her first short film “Getting Aria Back.” She is also working on 3 other scripts: ” A Second Chance,” “Jane Doe,” and “Aftermath.” Heidy’s scripts are all different genres since she wants to be known as a versatile writer. She is also a ghost writer and is working on the pilot for a TV series intended to be sold to Netflix.
